Throughout the year parents volunteer at Faith Presbyterian Child Development Center.
Volunteering at your child's preschool is a wonderful way to support your child's learning.
When parents and teachers act as a team, everyone benefits.
There are several ways to become involved at our center.
Serve on the Faith Presbyterian CDC Board:
The Board consists of twelve members composed of six church members appointed by the Session, two of whom shall be elders currently serving on the Session, and six parents of children who attend the CDC who are appointed by the Board. The parents may or may not be affiliated with Faith Presbyterian Church. The Pastor and the Director of the CDC will serve as ex-officio members of the Board.
Board members are expected to participate actively in all meetings and will receive a training and orientation of the Board responsibilities and the administration of the CDC.
The Board is organized into the following committees:
Policy and Procedures Committee
Budget and Finance Committee
Fundraising and Publicity Committee
Work Days:
Parents participate in two workdays a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. The workday may involve making repairs or improvements on the playground, washing windows, organizing storage closets, or setting up a computer.
Classroom Parent Volunteer:
Parents may become involved by agreeing to be a classroom volunteer. The parent can assist the teacher by organizing special events at the school like holiday parties or working on a special project that may require cutting or sewing.
Paper Retriever Program:
Faith Presbyterian CDC participates in a free community paper recycling program that pays our center for hosting a paper recycling bin, benefiting the environment. Parents can bring newspapers, magazines, catalogs, office paper, school paper, and mail. The more parents recycle the more it will benefit the center!
